F.A.Q.
OUR PROCESS
-
The first two meetings, the consultation and the presentation of the initial concept, are free of charge.
-
The first meeting can take place at your home or at one of our two showrooms, depending on your preference and the circumstances. Simply mention this during the discovery call with the kitchen designer.
-
Yes, it's important to bring a rough sketch with dimensions and photos from different angles of the space to be fitted out. If you've already searched for inspirational images on Pinterest, Instagram, or elsewhere, it's also a good idea to share them with your kitchen designer.
-
We have two showrooms, one in Rosemère and one in Saint-Sauveur. It is strongly recommended that you make an appointment before visiting, as our kitchen designers are not always available on site. You can consult our addresses on our contact page.
-
Our opening hours can be found on the Contact Us page. However, a meeting can be arranged on a weekday evening or on a Saturday before noon, by appointment.
-
After discussing your needs and preferences for the requested room's layout, your kitchen designer will share a preliminary budget of anticipated expenses. You will therefore have a rough idea of the overall cost of your project from the very first meeting.
-
The measurement visit normally takes about twenty minutes. If you have questions for the Project Manager, the visit might extend beyond that timeframe.
-
Expect approximately four months.
-
Depending on the work required, preparing the space will take between 5 and 15 business days: demolition of cabinets, countertops, backsplash, flooring, and other surfaces; surface preparation; flooring installation; plumbing and electrical work; priming and painting.
Here's a typical example: Once the preparatory work is complete, the kitchen will be delivered on day 1 and installed on days 2, 3, and 4. Countertop measurements will be taken on day 5 or 6. Countertop installation will take 10 to 12 business days. The sink will be installed at the same time as the countertop, but the faucet will need to be installed afterward.
-
No, measurements must be taken once the cabinetry is installed. Why? Walls are rarely straight, so it's necessary to measure the space after the cabinets are in place. Please allow 10 to 12 business days after the measurements are taken for countertop installation.
-
By taking advantage of our turnkey renovation service, you'll enjoy peace of mind regarding all the preparatory steps. However, if you undertake the demolition yourself, you will be fully responsible.
OUR PRODUCTS
-
No, we don't do refacing, meaning we don't just change the doors and panels while keeping the original cabinetry. We start from scratch and build all the cabinetry elements (cabinets, doors, and panels).
-
For a larger renovation project (multi-room), we can certainly design and have a bathroom vanity unit manufactured. However, if you only need a vanity unit and the dimensions are standard, you'll find a cheaper option at a large retailer.
-
If the countertop is part of a larger project, such as a kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room, we offer the service to our clients. However, we don't just sell countertops; we offer a complete turnkey solution.
-
Yes, we sell ceramic tiles and plumbing fixtures when specified in an Askal Interiors project. However, we do not sell them individually to the public.
-
There are several types of surfaces available for kitchen cabinetry. Our page on countertop types provides an overview of the characteristics of each. A kitchen designer can advise you on the specific features that best suit your project and needs.
-
Our supplier Miralis primarily uses 3/4" OSB.
-
Our talented team allows us to design any room with custom cabinetry, including walk-in closets and laundry rooms.
-
No, we don't handle one-off requests.
-
Yes, color matching is available for an additional fee per project.
-
We prioritize local businesses for every project.
DELIVERY & INSTALLATION
-
We focus our work in the North Shore, from Laval to Mont-Tremblant.
-
Unless you or your contractor installs a temporary countertop, you won't have a functional sink, faucet, or dishwasher.
-
Our team handles producing and coordinating the technical plans. Each project includes a lighting and electrical plan to ensure the concept is fully respected.
-
We have been working with a team of external installers for more than several years.
-
When your order is ready to ship, you will be notified of a delivery date. The shipping company will deliver the order directly to your home. It is important to plan for storage space if the installation date is scheduled for a later date.
-
The cabinets are delivered pre-assembled.
-
If there's a problem, a member of our team will take care of resolving it quickly. It's always important to report it to your kitchen designer or project manager as soon as possible.
